    Girl Scout Troop 60511

    March 21st, 2011

Girl Scout Troop 60511 visited the library in March to work on their Books Badge.  As part of their badge work, they read book reviews and made recommendations for books that they think the library should own, and that other kids would like.

Here are some of their choices:

Clare and Marycate liked LMNO Peas by Keith Baker, a picture book about peas who have very important occupations.

The Candymakers by Wendy Mass is a chapter book that was selected by Erin and Emma.   It is the funny story of Logan, who competes in a candymaking contest. It can be found in J Fiction.

Another chapter book was recommended by Krystina and Kristen. Big Nate: In a Class by Himself, by Lincoln Pierce, is the story of Nate, an 8th grader who manages to get detention in every one of his classes on the same day.  Look in J Fiction for this book.

Allison and Ginny loved animals so they chose Giant Pandas by Lyn Sirota, a book with beautiful photographs and fascinating information about these creatures.  It can be found in nonfiction j 599.789 SIR.

The most unusual book was Blockhead: The Life of Fibonacci which was spotted by Madison and Isabelle.  It is the biography of a mathematician who lived in Italy during the 1100′s.  It is not yet available at the Fairport Library, but can be ordered through inter-library loan.
