Through a generous gift, the library was able to establish the Seymour Rudin Small Business Center. The Center is your place to go for resources on starting a small business, working from home, patenting, licensing, and tax issues for small business owners, among other things. |

The Seymour Rudin Small Business Resource Center is a collection of resources designed to serve the information needs of the small business community in the Fairport/Perinton area. The Center features a collection of business publications, web sites, magazines and reference materials geared to assist small business owners. The Center opened its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony as part of the community’s celebration of National Small Business Week in May, 2001. A reception was held in May, 2005 to name the Center in honor of Seymour Rudin, a longtime Fairport resident and small business owner. Reference and circulating materials are available on topics such as writing a business plan, preparing for financing and bank loans, marketing, advertising, customer service, franchise opportunities, and sales and tax reporting.
